First Four Final

Keens Rams Into the Lead

Didn't catch any of the UTSA/Bama State game last night, but the halftime score looked like an epic beatdown was brewing. The RoadRunners slowed down in the second, but still managed to hold off the Hornets, who finish the year with both a losing record and a NCAA tourney berth. Not the easiest of tricks to pull off.

Later in the evening, Keens and Nathan were rewarded for their faith in the VCU Rams (misguided though that faith might be). It was an ugly game, particularly in the first half. If any of you were awake for the second, please, post your thoughts in the comments below.

Dreams:

  • Rookie's $ man lives to see another game where his squad will be slaughtered by THE ohio state university (aside: is there another threatening U in Ohio that causes all those mouth-breathing Buckeyes to absurdly emphasize the definite article? No, I haven't insulted you if you're a Buckeye, as you have no idea what I was just typing about). Too bad Rook took UTSA's third leading scorer.

Damages:

  • Bledsoe loses his team pick and Featherstone loses Vucevic. Thats what you get for picking USC, folks.

OH SNAP, ITS TOURNAMENT THURSDAY Y'ALL

Who took off work? Who is going into their office, closing the door, ignoring the phone and watching the games online all day?

Enjoy the best two-day sports offering a calendar year serves up, starting now.

Will this be your one shining moment?

HELL NO have you seen my record in this thing. Gimme that paper.

  1. I watched the second half. VCU straight outhustled USC for the entire half. It was still ugly, foul trouble on both sides - but VCU's shots started falling. Having seen VCU play 5 or 6 times this year I can offer the following:

-Skeen is 90% of their success, with their little PG Rodriguez jacking up NBA 3s for the other 10%.
-Following that, they will all shoot 3s all game, but not hit as many as you would expect for a team that relies on it.
-Box out box out box out. Shouldn't be hard to kill them on the boards (as ODU does often) but the effort must be there.

This team could easily beat GT, or lose by 18.
